Chat Mobility's RSA 2 Wireless Operations

  • Chat Mobility RSA 2 wireless operations previously served the Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union, and Wayne counties. Verizon now offers its array of services in these counties.
  • Chat Mobility RSA 1 continues serving customers in Adams, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page and Taylor counties.
  • There are a small number of exceptions to these rules. Make sure to enter your number above to confirm if you are impacted.
  • The transaction closed Tuesday October 27th 2020.

What actions do I need to take now? 

 

Chat Mobility- RSA 1 Customers 

Adams, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page and Taylor Counties (with some exceptions*) 

No action is needed.  

You will continue to be a Chat Mobility customer using the same great nationwide 4G LTE data network, competitive pricing, the latest handsets and devices, and the best customer service.  

 

Chat Mobility- RSA 2 Customers 

Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne Counties (with some exceptions*) 

On May 29th, 2020 you received a letter stating that Verizon had entered into an agreement to acquire Iowa RSA 2 Limited Partnership (Chat Mobility-RSA 2). The partnership provides wireless service in Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne counties. 

On October 27th, Verizon completed the acquisition and a transition period is now in progress through April 30, 2021.  Your service continues unchanged through April 30, 2021.  Your next step is to choose a plan through Verizon or a provider of your choice.  To select a Verizon plan, go online at go.vzw.com/unlimitedplan or call 1-800-922-0204.

What happens next?

Since Chat Mobility-RSA 2 will no longer be a service provider, you must choose a plan through Verizon or another provider over the next 6 months. By choosing Verizon, you will continue to get best-in-class customer experiences, and more choices in international calling and roaming options, all with the same flexibility and control you would come to expect from Chat Mobility.

To help with the transition, Verizon would like to offer a $150 bill credit** and a waived activation fee. This offer is available until November 15th, 2020. Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ are included with select Unlimited plans. To select a Verizon plan, go online at go.vzw.com/unlimitedplan or call 1-800-922-0204.

Since Verizon and Chat Mobility use the same technology platform, the vast majority of Chat Mobility- RSA 2 customers will be able to retain their current mobile device. Alternatively, you may attempt to use your device with another carrier. If you still owe a balance on your device, Chat Mobility will bill you the remaining balance due once you choose a new provider.

How do I know if my account is impacted?

What do I need to do now?

Chat Mobility- RSA 1

No action is needed as you will continue to be a Chat Mobility customer.

Chat Mobility- RSA 2

Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne Counties (with some exceptions*)
Since Chat Mobility-RSA 2 will no longer be a service provider, you must choose a new provider within the next 6 months.

What do I do if I fall within one of the exceptions?

When you enter your number in the box above, if you are taken to the Chat Mobility-RSA 2, Impacted Customer Landing Page then you are impacted by the transaction and should follow all instructions for Chat Mobility- RSA 2 customers even if you reside in Adams, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page or Taylor county.

When you enter your number in the box above, if you are taken to the Chat Mobility-RSA 1 Non-Impacted Customer Landing Page then you are not impacted by the transaction and no action is needed even if you reside in Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union or Wayne county.

Can I continue using Chat Services?

Chat Mobility will no longer be a service provider in Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne counties. You must select your plan with Verizon or a provider of your choice by April 30th 2021.

What will happen to my device? Will I have to buy a new phone?

Chat Mobility- RSA 1

Adams, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page and Taylor Counties (with some exceptions*)
Your device is supported on Chat Mobility’s network today. If you’re interested in a new phone, now is the perfect time to inquire by calling 800-944-5526 to visit with a customer care representative.

Chat Mobility- RSA 2

Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne Counties (with some exceptions*)
Since Verizon and Chat Mobility use the same technology platform, the vast majority of Chat Mobility- RSA 2 customers will be able to retain their current mobile device. However, if you financed your current phone/device and still owe a balance, Chat Mobility will bill you the remaining balance due once you choose a new plan with Verizon or a provider of your choice.

Will I be required to pay an early termination fee?

Chat Mobility- RSA 1

Adams, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page and Taylor Counties (with some exceptions*)
Since your service plan and pricing will continue as normal, an early termination fee does not apply.

Chat Mobility- RSA 2

Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne Counties (with some exceptions*)
You will not be required to pay an early termination fee when you select your plan from Verizon or another carrier.

What will happen to my Chat bill?

Chat Mobility- RSA 1

No action is needed as your billing will continue as normal.

Chat Mobility- RSA 2

You can continue to pay your Chat Mobility-RSA 2 bill via regular mail, set-up automatic payments via debit/credit card or ACH, pay online through www.chatmobility.com, or pay over the phone by dialing 611. Once you have selected a new plan through Verizon or another provider, you will receive a final bill from Chat Mobility. The final bill will include any remaining balance owed on the device.

When can I choose a new plan?

Chat Mobility- RSA 1

When I switch to Verizon, can I keep my number?

Once you have selected a plan with Verizon or another provider, you will receive a final bill from Chat Mobility. The final bill will include any remaining balance owed on the device.

What will happen to the Chat Mobility-RSA2 retail stores?

As a continued Chat Mobility customer, you will continue to be served at the retail locations in Adams, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page, and Taylor counties.

Chat Mobility- RSA 2

Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne Counties (with some exceptions*)
The Chat Mobility-RSA 2 locations in Creston, Osceola and Chariton will become certified Verizon stores.
On Tuesday October 27th the Creston, Osceola, and Chariton locations will be closed for remodeling. The stores are planned to reopen as follows; Osceola 11-2-20, Creston 11-4-20, and Chariton 11-6-20.
